Exploring an Bizarre Steam Demo: Controlling a Turdy Character on a Quest to Reach the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have encountered numerous interesting creations from small studios. However, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel jumping adventure lets you play a hero that is truly a dung striving to travel to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."
Player controls is easy to grasp: press a jump control. Throughout 150 stages, you'll face tough enemies and access a shop to acquire outfits for your dung hero.
Plan your actions with caution, as a error means beginning again. Jump off air pockets to propel your character to new heights, navigate crumbling surfaces, and interact with triggers to reveal secret routes. Earn coins for buying tougher stages where the action gets crazy.
Graphically, the game features neon stages and a killer music score. The simple art of morphing basic polygons could recall gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.
Although tough to name other games where you play as a piece of feces, interactive entertainment often included scatological themes. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players create grenades from character waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as soil enrichment. Naturally, this theme shows up a lot in the adventure The Stick of Truth.
Despite its silly premise, Unko Technica has already earned significant awards, including taking top honors at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. The demo is available now on Steam, with the final release set to debut on computers this November.
