Helicopter Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Shoreline
A chopper soaring above a popular coastal coastline unexpectedly started spinning out of control, ultimately losing altitude and plunging into a row of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.
Videos shared on social media capture the chopper starting to spin over the shoreline then descending towards the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
The Huntington Beach fire department said five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the chopper and were âextracted safely from the crash siteâ after the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were harmed. Details on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
