Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction
Residents observed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts verified that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews activated to address the numerous electricity disruptions.

Emergency response teams handled 598 requests for assistance across the area, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
